Multi-material / Bi-material

Multi-component injection moulding has many advantages in particular applications,as it allows the transformer to choose from various solutions and obtain artefacts with different technical features. For example, we can combine rigid materials (engineering plastics) and soft materials (elastomers) in the same workpiece.

Multi-colour

The multi-colour technology eliminates complicated and expensive production cycles, which require several moulding stages, manual insert loading, or additional assembly and finishing operations.

Co-injection or sandwich moulding

The parts to be moulded can consist of a reinforced core and a superficial layer, which ensures good aesthetic properties. It is also possible to make high-thickness items, whose intended use allows for the use of regenerated materials for the inner layers.

Double clamping units

Italtech provides engineering services and manufactures injection systems to increase productivity and ensure the repeatability and quality of the artefacts. The use of moulds with several moulding surfaces helps multiply the productivity of the same injection moulding machine. Stack moulding and tandem moulding technologies ensure increased productivity while reducing costs.

Gas injection

This technology consists in the co-injection of inert gas inside the plastics. This allows the workpiece to be emptied, thereby creating extremely strong and lightweight items. A plasticising system can be used for microcellular foam moulding.

Advantages include:

  • aesthetic improvement of the shape and finish of the moulded parts, thanks to the better adhesion of the materials to the walls of the moulded part;
  • maximum dimensional stability;
  • reduced cooling time in the mould and, therefore, faster moulding cycles;
  • lighter end products and, therefore, material savings;
  • reduced tonnage of the injection moulding machine compared to traditional ones;
  • no need to conform the workpieces outside the mould;
  • 20 to 30% reduction in injection energy consumption per cycle.

Injection compression | Low compression

No tensioning in the moulded artefact with the injection compression process. Unlike common injection moulding, injection-compression moulding ensures the perfect alignment of the optical surfaces and total absence of internal tensioning. For all applications where optics is important and for components that require maximum resistance of the material.
